My Toddler
Naima has been behaving so well with her caregiver Heather. Luckily she too, has a 15 month old daughter named Marissa. They both get along so well. Which puts me at ease, and lets me focus on school. Now I know I don't have to worry as much as I did the first few days. This picture helped me alot:
I am quite proud of her (as I always say, and will forever). She is becoming such a young little lady. Yes, there are the bad tempered tantrums, but lately she has been learning not to throw them. When she does begin to throw one, I'll kneel to her and ask what is wrong. She'll stop and ask to be held by spreading her arms out to me, crying, then usually points at something she wants. Another little incident I encountered with her, was when we went grocery shopping. As you all know, there are colourful candy/chocolate wrappers near the cashiers' register. I believe they put those in that particular spot on purpose (I swear I will smack the person who came up with that idea). Of course, Naima, quietly sitting on our cart and being the little curious monkey she is, wants those lively coloured things. I say: "No, Naima. Those aren't for us." The immediate screaching began. "Naima, please, we can't have those." The crying and screaming, also known as, the tantrum began. She also flips her head back as if she lets herself fall backwards. I picked her up, held the back of her head, and laid her head on my shoulder, and said: "I'm sorry sweety, but we can't have those. We will have yummy fruits when we get home. I promise." She immediately calmed down and stopped. Of course once we got home, as promised, we had a yummy fruit salad and snuggled on the couch watching her fave show.
She will also grab my hand and pull me towards somewhere or something she wants/to be. The other morning, she grabs my hand, and walks me to her crib and points at her teddy, which is far away from her reach.
This afternoon, I realized how quickly she is growing. The many little things she does amazes me and the fact how she learns by watching. The other day, she helped me put away the utensils from the dishwasher. Handing them to me one by one, and smiling as I said "Thank you, Naima".
The other day, I called in when she was at Heather's, she recognizes my voice. "Hi sweetie!" - she replies: "Hi!" and giggles. I cried. She also says : "Bubye!" and waves at you when you leave, or when she plans to leave the room.
I have been watching "old" videos of her, when she was a baby, looking at the newborn pictures. When she sees her baby pictures, she says: "Baby!" - "That's right, it's you as a baby." I can't imagine my life without her. She is my stamina

They do grow so fast don't they. Luke is rolling all over the floor now and he really is starting to know what he wants. And he just came home from the hospital like....a month ago?? I can already see him walking and running everywhere.

Hi Claudia. We haven't met yet, I'm Mitz's sister. I used to teach Gavin in Sunday School many years ago and just wanted to say that you have one of the most beautiful little girls I've ever seen. Enjoy every moment They do grow fast. Love the pictures.
