My Spanish interview
This morning was quite b usy. Heather couldn't watch Naima because Krystal (friend) had her baby boy this morning. Cameron Johnson, 5lbs 14oz and 19 inches. This little guy was born 3 weeks early, but is healthy as a horse. I cannot wait to meet him!!
Therefore, I had to get Naima ready. I was so nervous, and anxious. We were finally out the door by 12:30pm. Unfortunately, Naima didnt have her morning nap, otherwise she would have slept until 1pm.
We waited at the institute for about 20 mins, until Ms. Roxana (the lady who interviewed me) tabbed my shoulder and greeted me with an accent. At first, I could tell she was hispanic, but didn't want to ask if she was mexican (I know if someone asked me that, I would get upset), so I let it slip by. She quickly asked me where I was from (I guess I have an accent now too) "Originally from Chile ..." "*gasp*" looks at her employees ...."She's from Chile!!" Of course, I look at them bewildered ... "I am from Chile too!" *speaks Spanish* She immediately starting telling every employee that I'm Chilean (and quite proud of it) I felt like a celebrity, all that is missing is the paparazzi! Ok ok ok, well not that much, but everyone was surprised.
She showed me the institute, which is above the salon, in the second floor (awesome, stairs!!!) Apparently the school is getting renovated, so it was quite messy and dull. Everyone greeted Naima with their own baby talk. It was funny. Meet the instructor of the cosmetology department, very nice lady. I love how every student has their own unique hairstyle, I cant wait to get mine!!
The interview was short but sweet ... or sweet but short ... anyway, it went awesome, I'm liking the school more and more. I may find out by the end of the week or next week if I get accepted. I want this so badly, I want my career, I want to do what I love, and always wanted to for such a long time!! I feel a huge relief after the interview (oh yes, and my little Naima bear was such a good little girl, no fussyness or anything). Glad thats over, but now I have to write an essay about why I chose this profession and what not. I shall show it to you in another post once I am done.
This is awesome!! Keep your fingers cross!
