MERRY CHRITSMAS!

My family's Christmas tradition has never changed in generations. We all gather for Christmas eve dinner. Then tea and desserts, followed by an evening of game playing and movie watching, conversations and laughter. But this year was a tad bit different. Since Naima came into our world with such innocence, we wanted her to follow our tradition according to her bedtime.

In Chile, the time difference is 5 hours. So while here in BC it was 7pm, back home it was already Christmas midnight. And our tradition consists of opening presents right at midnight. The kiddies would hide from Santa so he wouldn't find them awake and waiting for him to arrive.

My grandfather would have us all run and hide in the bedroom pretending to be asleep. While all the adults downstairs were bringing in the presents in big black garbage bags. Once the presents were placed under the tree, and the milk and cookies were eaten, Tata (grandfather) would yell to us: "Santa came!!" - we'd all run downstairs, and for our surprise, the tree was surrounded by presents in all sizes and the milk and cookies were gone. *gasp*

By 7pm, shortly after dessert, we all opened our presents.

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday - and may New Year's bring for you promises of new dreams to fulfil, new goals to reach and new joys to discover.

Christmas Photoshoot - in the comfort of our home

This morning I decided to pull my own little studio for Naima's Christmas pictures. Though I'm a bit sad as to why I didn't think of it earlier ...
So, I pulled out my white duvet and layed it behind the couch, and threw my spare ornaments onto it, put Naima in her Christmas dress (that was purchased last year) did her hair up - and voilĂ ! I saved $30 :)

Must'n forget the gifts!
Or bells ...

Feliz Navidad!

ps: family members will be getting Christmas cards. :)

Oh Christmas Tree

Last night we did our Christmas tree. During this week we will be getting our portraits, so I will post those later this week.

- "Mami, I wanna help!"

- "This better not fall!"

- "I wasn't touching them ... "
